Officially, Thierry Henry has stepped down as the head coach of the France Under-21 squad.
Henry’s departure for “personal reasons” was officially announced by the French Football Federation on Monday.
Henry “decided to terminate his contract” with the squad, according to renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano, who also broke the story. Henry’s choice was cited as having “personal” grounds, Romano continued.
In 2023, Thierry Henry, the renowned forward from Barcelona and Arsenal, became leadership of the France U21 team.
After bringing the team to the 2024 Olympics finals, where they were defeated by Spain, he left the team unexpectedly, ending his brief reign. His team, France, won a silver medal at the end of their campaign.
