
At a press conference held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the Multipurpose Hall, Osun State University, Osogbo Campus, Vice Chancellor Professor Odunayo Clement Adeboye announced that the university will award a total of 2,409 degrees and diplomas at this year’s convocation ceremony.
The breakdown includes 59 First-Class degrees, 673 Second Class (Upper Division), 1,109 Second Class (Lower Division) and 304 Third Class.
In his address, Professor Odunayo Clement Adeboye highlighted the university’s achievement in ensuring that the school organised the convocation ceremony within the same year that the final-year students completed their exams. He attributed this success to the dedication of staff members and the effective utilization of technology, which facilitated the speedy processing of students’ examination results.
Additionally, He announced the commissioning of the Isiaka Adeleke Anatomy Complex by the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, on Saturday 21st September 2024.
The Vice-Chancellor congratulated the graduating students, their parents and well-wishers. He expressed his gratitude to the Government of Osun State for its constant support. He also outlined the university’s future aspirations, stating, “As we look to the future, our commitment remains steadfast. We aim to be among the top 10 universities in Nigeria and within the top 20 in Africa in the foreseeable future.”
Concerning the school’s teaching hospital, Modupe & Folorunsho Alakija Medical Research Hospital, UNIOSUN, he said that the hospital is completed, and further steps to be taken will be communicated to the public by the Alakija family and the school in due time.
