Recall that Mr. Idris Animasaun a social media personality was been invited by the Department of State Services (DSS) to allegedly criticize Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s governance.
After his release, Mr. Idris vowed to file a counter-petition requesting an investigation into the activities of OYSADA under Dr. Debo Akande’s leadership.
Reports by Thepage show that Mr.Idris is still ready to file a counter-petition and this was sighted on his Instagram page, the statement reads “Yesterday, I honored an invitation from the Oyo State Division of the Department of State Security Service. I arrived at approximately 10:05 a.m., accompanied by my lawyer Barr. Olamide Idowu @mide_dreamweaver, my brothers, and a supportive community who waited outside the premises”.
“It was brought to my attention that Dr. Debo Akande, an old friend, brother (after all, we are both from Ibadan), and the Director General of Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency, as well as the Executive Adviser to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, had filed a petition against me”.
“First, I want to express my appreciation to him for choosing this course of action. Given his position, he could have resorted to doing me a Dadi Yata, but he opted for the right and lawful approach”.
“The discussions with the security service officials lasted for about seven hours, involving some back-and-forth exchanges”.
” It’s important to note that I was treated respectfully and afforded all my rights under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
” The Director and Deputy Director of Operations were highly professional, focusing on ensuring a fair hearing and maintaining peace and order”.
“While my absence caused significant concern for my family, friends, and associates, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who stood by me—those on the ground, online, and Sahara Reporters for discovering the purpose of the invitation even before I did. I also want to thank my lawyer; I had initially thought I could handle the situation alone, but his legal guidance saved me from making critical mistakes. Truly, we all need a lawyer”.
“This matter is far from over, as I plan to file a counter-petition requesting an investigation into the activities of OYSADA under Dr. Debo Akande’s leadership”.
“This time, the approach will be different”.
