The National Association Of Nigerian Students Osun State Joint Campus Council senators has shown concern over some irregularities in the association.
In press Statement signed by the senators which comprises of the students union president in the state and the association chairman comrade Solomon Ayobami Abel ,it was stated that “It has come to our attention that some unscrupulous, misguided individuals posing as JCC representatives are making a shameless bid for power by staging an illegitimate “satanic press conference.” These desperate attempts, fully unauthorized and constitutionally null, are an insult to NANS values. The NANS/JCC Osun Axis Senate has officially suspended these impostors, who remain pariahs within our student community.”
“It’s worrisome to see that some minority leaders in the Student community are the ones championing a blackmail against the student structure that made them using a notorious tout. Students Unionism is an ideological movement that’ll never allow miscreants to hijack. It is important to say that there cannot be a leader without followers and that’s why we shall continue to stand firm to defend the interest of Nigerian Students that voted us as their leaders across campuses in Osun State”.
“Following the legitimate NANS/JCC Osun Axis Convention on October 30, 2024, held at the NUJ Hall in Osogbo under the supervision of the Nigerian Police Force, Osun State Command and the department of State Security services, Osun State Command. We proudly affirm the election of our true leadership, led by Com. Solomon Ayobami Abel (AY ALUTA) as Chairman for the 2024/2025 session. Other key officials elected are; Vice Chairman Com. Adegoke Oluwapelumi, General Secretary Com. Adebola Jamiu, and Public Relations Officer Com. Alabi Ibrahim.Make bold to say that these officials were elected by legitimate Senators (SU Presidents of Tertiary Institutions in Osun State)”.
“We extend deep gratitude to His Excellency Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for his unwavering support and for fostering peace among Osun students. The integrity and unity of the Osun student body will not be compromised by pretenders seeking chaos. We urge the Osun State Government and security agencies to immediately address these deceitful impostors, as their actions threatens the existence peace and harmony in our institutions”.
“NANS/JCC Osun Axis remains vigilant and unshakable, and will continue to advocate for all students in line with Governor Adeleke’s peaceful values and the NANS constitution. We will not allow rogues to tear down our unity or disturb the stability we are enjoying in the Students community in Osun State”. the statement reads.
This set of senators has called upon on the governor of the state His Excellency Ademola Adeleke to call the impostor into other and let peace reign in NANS JCC-.
