Mr.Emmanuel Esiakpere ,a lecturer in Osun State University, department of theater arts has given his final thought on a stage play he directed, themed Toko Taya but produced by Adande Sena.
Mr.Emmanuel directed this play at Muave 21 Ibadan in celebration of the valentine’s day, notable among dignitaries who were present at the event was the CEO Fresh FM Ibadan Dr. Yinka Ayefele, Honorable Commissioner For Youth And Sport Wasilat Adegoke , the wife of Ooni of Ife Queen Ashley Afolashade Ogunwusi and ace broadcaster Mr.mayor Issaic Brown among others.
When speaking with Thepage he stated that the play tọkọtaya is an adaptation of Tyrone Terrence husband’s wife. It is a play that addresses feuds in family.
“It challenges both the husband and the wife on the need to constantly make efforts to nourish their affairs just like a baby is being pampered and taken care of till maturity”.
” This is a common problem in the society today as there are unconscious distraction towards cares, love and affection in family. Many at times, the couple ignore some little forms of affection due to career and growth ignoring the fact that it takes two to tango”.
“Most times, individual selfish role in attaining the peak of their career makes them ignore the foundation of their family. It ends with a note that love is not enough but a constant effort in seeing the best of each other with care, love and affection”.
“The emphasis in the play is on attention and good communication which plays a vital role in almost destroying the marriage of 22years”.
“The issues raised and discussed in the play are general issues which makes me adopt naturalism and realism in the directing to make people familiar with both the settings and the production elements. “what does a man do when he no longer find what he fell in love with in the woman she fell in love with or what does he when the object of his affliction suddenly becomes the object of his affliction”.
