Heads down, tears drop as another tragedy hits the Soka area of Ibadan today, July 1st, 2025. One man, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, has lost his life in a fatal accident at Soka this morning , Seun Aribikola reports.
This was revealed by a Splash FM journalist Seun Aribikola, who received a distress call in the early hours of today about a Toyota Camry involved in an accident at the same spot where an accident that claimed four lives occurred last week.
He immediately sprang into action to investigate and contacted the necessary authorities to rescue any victims. Upon arriving at the scene, a police officer from the Sanyo Division informed Seun Aribikola that the driver of the Toyota Camry, with the number plate KRD 955 GJ, was already dead.
The officer added that while the exact cause of the accident remains unclear, he witnessed the driver hit a roadside culvert before colliding with a stationary trailer left from last week’s accident. The man reportedly died on the spot.
The vehicle has since been towed to the Sanyo Police Station in Ibadan.
It was said that Soka is gradually becoming an accident-prone area that urgently requires government attention, both to enforce stricter traffic regulations and to construct a modern pedestrian bridge for the safety of residents.
