The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has unveiled a 205-member campaign committee for the upcoming Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election. Notably, Senator Teslim Folarin, the party’s 2023 governorship candidate, was not included in the committee.
Hon. Akin Alabi, member representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, was named Director-General of the campaign council. Other prominent members include Senators Sharafadeen Alli, Yunus Akintunde, and Fatai Buhari, as well as Chief Adeolu Akande and Hon. Bosun Oladele.
The committee will be responsible for ensuring the party’s victory in the August 16 bye-election, which was necessitated by the sudden death of Hon. Olaide Akinremi. The APC’s move has sparked interest, with many wondering why Folarin was excluded from the committee.
The inauguration of the campaign council is set to hold today, August 6, 2025, at the APC Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan.
