Dauda Kahutu Rarara, a popular Hausa political singer, has been conferred with an honorary doctorate degree by the European-American University, Commonwealth of Dominican Republic of Panama. The degree, Doctor of Science Humanitarian Service, Music and Entertainment, was awarded to Rarara at the university’s 23rd convocation ceremony held at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja.
The ceremony, which honoured individuals for their outstanding contributions to humanity, saw Rarara join the ranks of distinguished personalities recognised for their commitment to excellence and community development. Professor Idris Aliyu, representing the Vice Chancellor of the university, presented the certificate to Rarara.
According to Dr Musari Audu Isyaku, the Northern Nigeria representative of the institution, Rarara was recognised for his remarkable humanitarian work and contributions to the development of humanity. Isyaku noted that the honorary doctorate degree is a testament to Rarara’s unwavering commitment to excellence and community development.
In his remarks, Rarara expressed his excitement at being recognised for his talent and humanitarian services. He urged youths to be patient and dedicated, emphasising the importance of being purposeful. Rarara stated that the award would encourage him to execute more humanitarian services in Katsina state and other parts of Nigeria.
Governor of Katsina state, Dr Umaru Dikko Radda, who was present at the event, described Rarara as a phenomenon and unifier. Radda noted that the singer has delivered several humanitarian projects within Katsina and other parts of Nigeria, using his talent not only to entertain but also to unify Nigerians. The governor praised Rarara for standing as a symbol of tenacity and dedication.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, Minister of Transportation, Senator Sa’idu Ahmad Alkali, and several members of the House of Representatives.
Rarara’s honorary doctorate degree is a recognition of his contributions to humanity and his commitment to using his platform for the betterment of society.
