Osun State University (UNIOSUN) marked a significant milestone in its 15th Convocation Ceremonies on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, with the unveiling of its impressive Senate Building, alongside other state-of-the-art projects across its campuses. The ceremony was a grand affair, attracting a host of distinguished guests, including top government officials, royal fathers, and esteemed academics.
The event was led by the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), H.E. Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, alongside the Executive Secretary of TETFund. The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, and the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, graced the occasion, underscoring the state government’s commitment to education. Eminent royal fathers, including the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Larooye II, the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal (Laminisa I), and the Owa of Ilesa, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran II, were also in attendance.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of UNIOSUN, Professor Clement Odunayo Adebooye, described the Senate Building as a symbol of the university’s growth, resilience, and vision for the future. He noted that the project, along with others being commissioned, demonstrates the university’s steady progress and commitment to academic excellence. Professor Adebooye expressed gratitude to the Governor of Osun State for his continuous support and TETFund for their role in making the project a reality. He emphasized that the collaboration between the state government, TETFund, and the university has positioned UNIOSUN for global competitiveness.
The commissioning of the Senate Building and other projects marks a new era for UNIOSUN, with enhanced facilities that will support academic excellence and innovation.
