Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu has announced changes in the leadership of Nigeria’s military, appointing new Service Chiefs in a bid to bolster national security.
According to a statement, General Olufemi Oluyede has been appointed as the new Chief of Defence Staff, replacing General Christopher Musa. Other appointments include Major-General W. Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff, Air Vice Marshall S.K Aneke as Chief of Air Staff, and Rear Admiral I. Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff.
Chief of Defence Intelligence Major-General E.A.P Undiendeye has retained his position.
President Tinubu has thanked outgoing Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and other outgoing Service Chiefs for their dedicated service and leadership.
The newly appointed Service Chiefs have been charged to enhance the professionalism and vigilance of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
The appointments take immediate effect.
