Lead City University, Ibadan, has expelled a 400-level Computer Science student, Taofeek Abdul Azeez (Matric No: LCU/CSC/22/2792), over alleged involvement in cult-related activities on campus.
According to an official letter signed by the Deputy Registrar, Corporate Communications & Students Services, Dr. Ayobami M. Owolabi, the decision to expel the student was based on findings from a recent disciplinary review. The letter referenced a serious incident involving another student, Ajibola Abundance, who was reportedly caught brandishing dangerous weapons and creating panic within the university hostel.
Further investigations revealed that Taofeek was not only present during the incident but was also found to be a bonafide resident of the same hostel where the weapons were discovered. The university described the involvement as a “violation of matriculation oath and the rules and regulations of the institution.”
“You are hereby expelled from the University. You are to vacate the premises of the University immediately,” the letter stated.
Taofeek has been instructed to return all university property in his possession, including his ID card, to the appropriate office.
Lead City University reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward cultism, violence, and any form of misconduct, stressing that it remains committed to providing a safe and conducive learning environment.
