A suspected armed robbery incident occurred on Monday along the Bodija-Osuntokun Road in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, leaving at least one person dead.
Eyewitnesses report that the assailants, numbering about four, stormed the area in broad daylight, targeting passersby and motorists. The incident caused panic among residents and business owners, with several shops hurriedly shut down during the chaos.
Security operatives were reportedly mobilised to the scene shortly after the attack. While details of the incident remain sketchy, local sources confirmed that one victim was fatally shot during the operation.
The Oyo State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement, but a source within the command said investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being made to apprehend the perpetrators.
