The city of Ibadan witnessed a star-studded evening as Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, joined thousands of fans at the Ibadan leg of Davido’s 5ive Tour concert held over the weekend.
The event, which brought together music lovers, entertainment enthusiasts, and political dignitaries, was hosted at the Ibadan Recreation Club and drew an estimated crowd of over 25,000 attendees from across Nigeria.
Governor Adeleke, who is Davido’s uncle, was seen enjoying the energetic performance by the Afrobeats star, while Governor Makinde’s presence added a political touch to the highly anticipated show. Other top dignitaries, celebrities, and industry stakeholders also graced the event, further elevating its profile.
In his remarks, Davido appreciated the governors and fans for their overwhelming support, stating, “This isn’t just a concert — it’s a celebration of Nigerian youth, culture, and unity. I’m honored to have my family and leaders here with us tonight.”
The event was marked by tight security, with more than 2,000 security personnel, including DSS, the Nigerian Army, Amotekun Corps, Man O’ War, and private security outfits, ensuring a peaceful and well-coordinated atmosphere.
The Ibadan edition of the 5ive Tour has been hailed as one of the biggest musical events in the city in recent times, combining entertainment, youth engagement, and political presence in one dynamic evening.
