Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is expected to commission the largest bus terminal in Ibadan, Oyo State, tomorrow, marking a significant milestone in the state’s urban transport development.
The terminal, located in Iwo road the heart of Ibadan, is part of the Oyo State Government’s effort to modernize transportation infrastructure, ease intra-city commuting, and create a cleaner, more organized urban environment.
The event will bring together top government officials, stakeholders in the transportation sector, traditional rulers, and members of the public.
Governor Seyi Makinde, who initiated the terminal project under his administration’s urban renewal program, will host the former president at the commissioning ceremony. The terminal is equipped with modern facilities including passenger lounges, ticketing systems, loading bays, security posts, and restrooms.
The Ibadan Bus Terminal is expected to improve traffic flow, provide employment opportunities, and serve as a model for other transport hubs across the country.
Security has been heightened in anticipation of the high-profile event, which is scheduled to begin by 10 a.m. tomorrow.
