Security operatives and local vigilantes in Iseyin, Oyo State, have apprehended two suspected kidnappers from northern Nigeria. The suspects, identified as Umaru Abubakar (25) and Bello Umaru Usman (32), were caught with a large sum of cash and bullets, sparking renewed concerns about insecurity in the region.
In a viral video currently circulating online, the suspects were seen being interrogated in Yoruba by a local resident. During the interrogation, the duo confessed to being involved in kidnapping, with Usman claiming he had made over N2.4 million from their criminal activities since they began.
One of the suspects revealed that their most recent victim was a male individual and alleged that they received information from the victim’s own son, whom they identified as “Alhaji”, to facilitate the abduction.
According to their statements, Usman hails from Yawure, while Abubakar is from Jebba in Niger State.
