Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola, popularly known as FRYO, has clinched the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.
The party’s primary was held under heavy security presence in Osogbo on Tuesday, with delegates from across the state in attendance.
Announcing the results, the electoral official revealed that FRYO secured a commanding 919 votes out of the 957 accredited delegates, emerging as the clear winner of the exercise.
Interestingly, despite Governor Ademola Adeleke’s earlier public resignation from the PDP, his name still appeared on the primary ballot, raising questions about the internal coordination of the party in the state.
The emergence of FRYO marks a significant shift in Osun PDP politics, as the party seeks to regroup following recent defections and internal crises.
