Former House of Representatives member, Hon. Saheed Akinade Fijabi, has reacted to the controversial incident at the Oyo APC Youth Summit held in Ibadan on Wednesday , December 17, 2025, expressing disappointment over the treatment he received despite his support for the programme.
In a statement posted on his verified Facebook page, Fijabi clarified that he was officially invited by the summit’s planning committee to serve as a panelist and was also requested to make financial contributions to support the event.
“I sent my financial contribution to the committee on Monday, December 15th at 2pm. Following that, they designed a flyer with my image to further encourage my presence,” he stated.
However, the former lawmaker lamented that the committee “had other plans” which were “unfolded” at the event, describing the conduct as dishonorable and indicative of “extremely low values.”
Despite the development, Fijabi affirmed he holds no grudge. “I remain committed to serving Oyo State with integrity, through honorable platforms receptive of my ideas,” he said.
ThePage can confirm that Fijabi has been appointed by the Oyo State Government to chair the committee planning the state’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
