As the world celebrates the birth of Christ this week, believers and non-believers alike are reminded of the importance of adopting the mind of Christ, characterized by humility, sacrifice, and service to others.
In a message based on Philippians 2:5-11, the Scripture teaches that Christ’s humility and obedience led to His exaltation by God. To have the mind of Christ, one must shift focus from self to others, reject worldly philosophies, and live by God’s wisdom.
The mind of Christ is demonstrated through self-control, self-examination, forgiveness, and service. It involves exercising self-control, recognizing weaknesses, and throwing oneself upon God’s mercy. It also involves forgiving others and serving fellow humans as a privilege.
“We must humble ourselves in regard to self-control, self-examination, forgiveness, and service,” the message emphasized.
The message urges Christians to focus on the mind of Christ and non-believers to consider giving their lives to Jesus, reminding all that every knee will bow to the Lord’s name on Judgement Day.
The sermon concluded with a prayer: “Father, please let me completely embrace the mind of Christ through my life in the name of Jesus.”
The message ended with Christmas and New Year greetings.
