Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has officially declared his ambition to contest the Kogi Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
The seat is currently held by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. Bello’s announcement sets the stage for what could be a high-stakes political contest in the senatorial district.
Sources close to the former governor say he is determined to reclaim the seat for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and believes his experience and grassroots network will give him an edge.
With this declaration, the race for Kogi Central is expected to intensify, especially as Senator Natasha is also widely expected to seek re-election.
