The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has issued a stern warning to the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, urging him to exercise caution in his statements regarding Rivers State politics.
Speaking at a public event in Port Harcourt, Wike expressed dissatisfaction over remarks attributed to Basiru and cautioned that the support Rivers people have given to President Bola Tinubu should not be misinterpreted as weakness.
“When the President returns, and when I see the Minister of Blue Economy, I’ll ask them to warn him,” Wike said. “If you carry your hand to Rivers State and it burns, don’t say I caused it.”
The former Rivers governor declared that the state remains a politically sensitive zone and warned that any external interference would be fiercely resisted. “This state is a no-go area. I can challenge anybody,” he stated.
